University of Illinois – Pallet House Presentation
Some students at a program called Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership at University of Illinois have come up with a proposal for a pallet house. I imagine this was an exercise and not an actual project.
Pallet House by I-Beam Design
This is a design by I-Beam Design of a pallet home intended as a long-term housing solution for refugee camps. The average life of a refugee camp is 7 years but some can persist for up to 50 years.
A crop duster flys over the Tiny Free House
I like the irony of this crop duster flying over what might be one of the greenest houses. The airplane was probably spraying pesticides on a nearby rice field. The farm I’m building the Tiny Free House on is a certified organic farm that’s been in my wife’s family for a few generations.
Tiny Free House Tour
You’ll need to use your imagination for this video. It’s a quick tour of the Tiny Free House while under construction. When complete this 7′ by 12′ tiny house will sleep three people, have a comfortably sized bathroom, simple kitchen, and cost not a dime.
What little money is being spent on screws and other items not easily found free on websites like craigslist will be paid for by selling some of the free stuff I do find. In the end this house will cost nothing. Here’s a quick tour.
